Lip Care Tips

If you thought that chapped lips can only occur during winter season, you are mistaken. Lips can become dry in any season including spring, fall and summer, let alone the cold winter. While lip care products are the best way to take care of your lips, there are few tips you should keep in mind while purchasing them.

1.When choosing lip care products always select one that does not contain any petrochemical products, alcohol, and glycerin. This can affect your tender lips skin. Always choose the one that contain hyaluronic acid and best in combination with natural products.

2.Do not use commercial cosmetic lipstick during winter as they can drastically damage the skin pores. If you just cannot resist cosmetic products, apply some lip balm or balsam. This will prevent from chapped lips.

3.Always make sure to moisten your lips with lip care products every day. You can apply a lip balm any time, particularly at night. Make sure you carry a lip balm in your handbag or pocket whenever you go out. Lip balms can also act as a sun block for your lips. They are made from different ingredients including natural oils, vitamins, salicylic acids and alum.

4.There are also some natural alternatives to lip care products. They can help you take care of your lip skin. For example, you can apply a natural scrub by mixing honey with semolina and massage the mixture gently on your lips every week. Alternatively, a nice massage with a soft toothbrush can also make your lips skin soft.

5.To make your lips more attractive and sensual, apply lip gloss. Apart from vibrant colors and sparkles, good quality lip glosses contain many essential and softening oils. This will not only satisfy your decorative urge, but also help you combat dry, chapped lips.

While the lack of sebaceous glands prevents lips to get moisturized naturally, the suggested tips and tricks for lip care would help you keep your lips properly moisturized.

Skincare Essentials

The key to younger, brighter looking skin is in understanding your skin type. Follow our skincare essentials guide to your perfect complexion.
Normal skin

Individuals with normal skin can experience flaking and tightness of the skin, especially after sun or wind exposure. This can occur due to underactive sebum production. This condition is eased by using correctly tailored products, and also by drinking lots of water and food with vitamin A, and omega 3s (found in oily fish). We recommend Burt’s Bees Orange Cleanser and Korres Wild Rose 24 hour Moisturiser.

We also recommend:

* Korres Wild Rose 24 hr Moisturiser SPF 6
* Murad Energizing Pomegranate Cleanser
* Burt’s Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser
* Murad Lip Therapy SPF 15
* Burt’s Bees Marshmallow Vanishing Cream

Combination skin

Combination skin has a tendency for oily patches in the T-Zone (forehead, nose and chin) and balanced skin in other areas. To combat this, your products need to be effective at clearing oil but not over drying the other skin areas. We recommend Korres Orange Blossom Daily Emulsion to cleanse your skin daily, and Lierac Facial Serum to boost skin vitality. Treat breakouts with Ole Henriksen Roll on Blemish Attack.

We also recommend:

* Korres Orange Blossom Daily Emulsion
* Lierac Concentre Mesolift Facial Serum
* Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion
* Lierac Aqua D + Refreshing Creme Gel
* Ole Henricksen Roll on Blemish Attack

Dehydrated skin

Like normal/dry but more severe, if you suffer from dehydrated skin it will feel dry and taut all day. This is eased by application of suitable moisturisers and cleansers that are mild and do not strip the skin (tip. If after cleansing your skin feels very tight and ‘squeaky clean’ the product is probably too harsh). Avoid toners containing alcohol, we recommend Trilogy hydrating Mist Toner, which provides instant moisture for thirsty skin.

We also recommend:

* MD Skincare Cleansing Foam
* Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner
* Lierac Hydra-Chrono Baume
* John Masters Organic Hydrating Mask
* Rose & Co Apothecary Rose Petal Salve

Oily skin

Oily skin occurs where there is excessive sebum production. This skin type may need more frequent cleansing than other skin types, and be prone to acne due to pores blocked by sebum. To treat breakouts, we recommend investing in a quality on the spot treatment such as Ole Henriksen Roll-on Blemish Attack. Murad Clarifying Cleanser is also great for daily cleansing.

We also recommend:

* Murad Clarifying Cleanser
* MD Skincare Hydra Care Oil- Free Moisture
* Ole Henriksen Grease Relief Free Tonic
* Korres Cinnamon and Natural Clay Deep Cleansing Mask
* Ole Henriksen Roll-on Blemish Attack

Sensitive skin

Sensitive skin is a complex skin type similar to other types, e.g. dry, oily etc, but is prone to be delicate and easily irritated. This can be exacerbated by extreme temperatures and other environmental factors, and by reactions to highly scented or chemically enhanced products. Use a mild cleanser such as Murad Soothing Gel, combined with a light moisturiser like Nuxe Ultra Comfortable Face Cream which are kind to your skin.

We also recommend:

* Nuxe Ultra Comfortable Face Cream
* Murad Soothing Gel Cleanser
* Ole Henriksen Skin Inhalation Therapy
* Burt’s Bees Repair Serum Therapy
* Korres Calendula Compound Cream for skin irritations

Mature skin

As skin ages, collagen and elastin, fibers that keep the skin firm, weaken. The skin looks loose and lax, becomes thinner, and loses fat, so that it looks less plump and smooth. We recommend products that combat the visible signs of ageing, such as Dr Lewinn’s Smoothing Complex Corrective Line Filler and Aromatherapy Associates Instant Skin Firming Serum designed to compliment your daily skincare routine.

We also recommend:

* Korres anti-ageing Olive & Rye night cream
* Dr Lewinn’s Line Smoothing Complex
* Lierac Stimulating & Firming Beauty Lift Mask
* Burt’s Bees Rosewater & Glycerin Toner
* Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina Cleanser

Choose a Fragrance that Suits You

Fragrances can make you feel fresh and even help you turn a few heads. Learn how to correctly apply fragrances for maximum scent effect.

FRAGRANCE DOS:

* Do choose a fragrance that suits you. Different fragrances will have a different affect on people, so before you go out and buy one that you like on your best friend, make sure you try it out on your own skin and see how your body chemistry reacts to it.

* Do change your perfume with the change of the season. In winter you may need a stronger scent as the cold may reduce the scent's power.

* Do shop for perfume in the afternoon when your sense of smell is at its peak.

* Do wear more fragrance if you have dry skin; you will need to apply fragrances more often than those who have oily skin.

* Do apply your perfume after you have showered and dried completely. After a shower or bath, your pores open up allowing the perfume to be soaked into your pores.

* Do apply perfume to your pulse points for maximum effect. Your pulse points include the inside of your wrists, at the temples, behind the knees, behind the ears, between the ankles, toes and thighs as well as in your cleavage.

FRAGRANCE DON'TS:

* Don't overdo it. Overpowering smells can make the people around you very uncomfortable and may even cause headaches.

* Don't spray perfume near pearls or costume jewelry. Because perfume is infused with alcohol it can strip these jewels and remove their coating.

* Don't combine perfume with deodorant or deodorant soap. The combination smell may be unpleasant.

* Don't buy perfume without testing it on your own skin first. Spray a little on your skin and wear it for a few hours to see how it reacts and also to determine how long it lasts.

How to apply Foundation

Many women avoid wearing foundation because they are scared of an unequal mask like effect.

Foundation is one of those products women wear every day, so making the right investment at the beginning will pay off.

There are 2 keys to applying foundation; the first is to choose the perfect foundation shade, while the second is to pick the right formulation for your skin.

The reason for applying foundation is to get a smooth and even finish to your skin. Though liquid foundation is commonly used because it is easy to apply, however compact foundations are excellent alternatives as they give an even finish which doesn’t have to be set with powder.

Before we talk about applying foundation, let’s talk about the different types of foundation namely;

1. Tinted Moisturisers: they are ideal for young or clear skins, unlike other foundations; you can blend tinted moisturisers on with your fingertips.

2. Liquid Foundations: These suit all but the driest skin, if you have oily skin look for an oil-free liquid foundation to cover affected areas without aggravating them.

3. Cream Foundations: These are thick, rich and moisturisers. They are ideal for drier skins. To apply, dab a little onto back of your hand, then dot unto your skin with sponge.

4. Compact Foundation: These are all in one formulations which already contain powder. They come in a compact usually with their own sponge for application.

5. Stick Foundation: These are the original foundation, dating back to the early days. They are best configured to use on badly blemished skin.

What are the results of oxygen deficiency?

The consequences of oxygen deficiency are general weakness, muscle and headaches, disturbed sleep and metabolism, frequent infectious diseases, decreased immunity, and sexual activity, cancer, depression.

Oxygen is an essential need for living organisms, primarily for the oxidation of food in the process of metabolism with release of energy, which is used for the work of muscles, mental activity.

The lack of oxygen leads to damage of cells in various body systems (respiratory, nervous and cardiovascular systems).

Here are the actual diseases associated with lack of oxygen in the body:

1. Acute and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (bronchitis, bronchial asthma, etc.), pleurisy, hereditary diseases, etc.
2. Acute and chronic pneumonia, atelectasis, emphysema, tuberculosis, pleurisy, pneumothorax, tumor processes, conditions after surgery, primary and secondary pulmonary hypertension, etc.
3. Diseases associated with the disorders of hemoglobin oxygen saturation: anemia of various origins (including as a result of menstrual blood loss), intoxication.
4. Diseases associated with the disorders of oxygen delivery to vital organs: acute and chronic cardiovascular disease (ischemic heart disease, cardio-vascular insufficiency), disorders of cerebral circulation.
5. Diseases associated with disorders of utilization of oxygen in organs.

What do you do if you find you are deficient in oxygen

OF course, it's possible compensate the lack of oxygen by walking and getting closer to nature. But sometimes it is impossible or insufficient. In these cases you will need oxygen therapy.

What is it Oxygen Therapy?

Oxygen therapy- is widely used in medical practice treatment technique, based on breathing pure oxygen or a gas mixture with high (relative to the oxygen content in air) concentration of oxygen. Oxygen comes from the special cylinder, oxygen concentrator or a central gas supply system into the gear-meter for adjusting the pressure and the therapeutic gas flow (usually from 2 to 10 liters per minute at atmospheric pressure).

Then gas then enters the humidifier, where it is saturated with water vapor and warmth. Oxygen enters the respiratory tract of the patient through a gas mask or cannula. The concentration of inhaled oxygen depends on the modification of the mask (cannula) and can range from 30 to 90%.

Face Makeup Tips

Not all women are blessed with perfect skin tone and attractive features but with some effective face make up tips most can reach closer to what they desire to become. Face make up is the best way to highlight your attractive features and cover up your facial flaws.

One needs to be familiar with the make up techniques to bring out the best in their personality. There are several brand cosmetics available in the market that when used skillfully can create wonders. Known to be the girl`s best friend, these cosmetics should be carefully selected and surely discarded on expiry. And if you want to learn the basic face make up techniques, then here are some tips that will help you get the right face make up:

Base or foundation:

Start with applying appropriate base and moisturizer on your face. Also cover ears, neck and nape portions that are visible. Use a tissue paper to wipe off the excess moisture, if any. Apply foundation dots across your face and blend it well so as to cover your blemishes and other facial flaws. Opt for oil-free products that contain salicyclic acid or tea tree oil. Now take some ice cubes and quickly rub them on your skin. This will close all the pores on your face. Now dab with a tissue and apply compact powder. Make sure to select a range that matches with your complexion and hence gels well with your skin tone.

Eyes:

Select eye shadow according to your dress and day time. For evening, opt for darker shades and for bright daylight occasion go for lighter color eye shadows. You can also try some golden or silver glitter, if you are going for some evening party bash but better avoid it if you are attending something more formal.

Now carefully apply eyeliner to define your eye shape. Use kohl along your eye rims and then apply mascara on your eyelashes. It is important to note that big eyes do not require much enhancement and hence eye makeup should be kept minimal but for smaller eyes you should go for thick eye lining and also darker kohl so that the eyes look prominent.

Lips:

Apply pencil lip liner to outline your lips. It will ensure that your lipstick or gloss does not smear. Now with a lip brush apply lip color on your lips. Go for color shades that will suit your skin tone. For lasting effect, you can apply some oil-free foundation on your lips before applying lipstick. After you fill in your lip with the lip color, apply some lip gloss. This will add sparkle to your lip make up. However, you can avoid gloss if you prefer a mat look for the occasion.

Blush on:

Now accentuate your features with blush on. Roll on the brush on the apt shade and gently apply it on the side of your cheeks. Try to keep it natural and hence avoid over use of blush on. Select right color shades that will suit your complexion. For instance, while pink and beige blushes will look good on fair skin, plum and bronze shades will complement darker skin tone and for olive skin tone copper, almond and warm brown shades will be the best.

Touch up:

Always remember to carry a lipstick, a lip gloss, compact powder, some tissues and a small mirror with you. You can give a quick touch up to your face makeup in case it starts wearing off. Lastly but most importantly carry yourself confidently.

Important tips:

Use good quality cosmetics that suit your skin type and skin tone, and discard expired cosmetics because their continuous use can lead to infections. For removing the make up use oil-free makeup remover that does not clog the pores.

If you carefully follow the above mentioned tips, you are sure to learn about the right make up for your face. Moreover, with time and practice you will also discover other important details that will help you to customize the face make up procedures to suit your facial skin and features.

Plastic Surgery

The decision to have plastic surgery can be a complicated one and finding the right cosmetic surgeon can be even more daunting. One of the best ways to get an idea of the true results of any operation and the skill of any particular surgeon is by looking at "before and after" pictures of other patients.

You can start your research of any surgical procedure by googling it on the Internet and looking for "before and after" images. For example, you may want to know just how much difference a tummy tuck will make in the size and appearance of the abdomen. It is one thing to read about the benefits of a procedure, but it is so much more helpful to see the benefits for you.

Just be careful while doing this preliminary search that you scrutinize photos carefully to look for any image "doctoring" or things that looked digitally altered. Anybody can post anything to the Internet and some people certainly have motivation for enticing potential patients with "enhanced" pictures of surgical results. It is a good idea to sample a wide variety of images from many different sites to get an idea of what the general results look like from any procedure.

Photos in the Doctor's Office

Once you have started your search for a particular surgeon, try actually going to visit several doctors' offices and asking to see some "before and after" photos of the procedure you want done. The very first thing you should examine is whether or not the pictures and their presentation seem professional and of good quality. This alone can tell you a great deal about the doctor's attention to detail and the way she runs her practice.

You should also again look to spot photo-shopped images, but this will probably be less of an issue than it is on the Internet. You can get away with anything on the web; in a doctor's office, his reputation is on the line.

Next you should look to see if each patient comes out looking the same as the others in the doctor's photos. This can be a very bad thing in the case of nose jobs or eyelid surgeries, among others, where the procedure really ought to be very personalized to each person. If all the patients in the "after" photos look like they have exactly the same nose, for example, you should probably look for a different plastic surgeon!

Hair Removal

Today the practice of hair removal is one of the major concerns not only for the majority of women but also for men. The hair removal has become a kind of welfare for the body with one goal – to get a smoother skin. In the current trend with the set of summer season the skin should be soft and hairless.This is one of the rules of any well-groomed woman and man.Vegetation on the legs or any part of the visible body is seen as unwillingness to follow the trend, laziness and lack of respect for self and others.Today we will talk about different hair removal techniques and products, after which you will get a soft and moisturized skin, relieved irritation and would also slow the growth of unwanted hair.

The goal of hair removal is to remove hair from all parts of the body - most visible and also from more intimate areas. The hair removal is increasingly practiced for the pleasure and well-being beyond just the physical health or decency. It has become a new fashion, put forward by followers of body care and sellers of skin care creams.
Beyond a better quality of life, mode of hair removal also comes from the field of sports and athletes. The original purpose for hair removal in this field is to avoid odors after the effort and the oxidation of sweat. Different methods of hair removal exist and are open to all. The removal of hair now extends beyond the legs and armpits ... It concerns now pubis, the torso ... a beauty criterion established by the male as well as female role models.

Hair removal techniques

Shaving

The razor, as everyone knows, whether electrical or mechanical, gives a quick, assured and perfect result. More appropriate for the legs and armpits but it has a major drawback - It is necessary to shave every two to three days, because the hair re-grows quickly and harder than last time. A little tip – Always use a proper shaving cream and new blade for every shave. This is necessary to keep the skin smooth and to avoid razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Especially for the legs of women, if they want to keep them beautiful to show off in the sexy lingerie’s.

Waxing

Waxing is very old method been used from ages for hair removal. Wax can be purchased or made itself even at home with a mixture of honey, lemon and sugar. Its effectiveness lays in the fact that it removes the hair from the root to give a result that lasts 3 weeks, with a much slower re-growth. The disadvantage is it takes a steady hand to apply the wax, especially in inaccessible places like the back of the thighs, and pay attention to the wax in case very hot wax can lead to burns. Wax is most effective on long hair; it requires minimum 3mm hair length to pull the hair more properly and give more effective results. The best thing is to get it done by a professional beautician. In addition, it will go much faster too.

The depilatory cream or foam

This method is mainly advisable for beginners or the ones who are not comfortable with shaving or waxing. In this method the depilatory cream is to be applied on the skin with a small spoon or a spatula and rinsed after 10 minutes of dissolution. Unfortunately, this requires a lot of product, and it is not very economical. Moreover, the result is almost identical to shave; it results in harder hair and faster hair re-growth.

The laser hair removal

Finally, laser hair removal – not the final hair removal method actually. The laser light is targeted at the root of hair, which destroys the hair bulb. But this method works only for people with white skin and black hair as this method requires a high amount of melanin to work effectively. This hair removal technique is painless but very costly and requires long time period because more than one sitting is required, spaced at several months.

Hair Removal for Men

And what about men? Majority of them admit to have the worry and concern about the hair removal. The places from where they most often remove hair are the armpits, chest, pubic area and groin. Whether cream, razor or wax, there is not a priori preferred technique. This may be due to the fact that very few do it themselves, but prefer to go to center.

The goal is obviously the desire to please, as more and more women, especially among 15 to 22 years, greatly appreciate the aesthetic result and also the efforts made by men to take care of their bodies.

Messages For Healthy Teeth And Gums

Being negligent towards oral care can result in weakened gums, yellowing teeth and frequent visits to the dentist. Good dental care habits last, if they are adopted early on in life, otherwise one may end up developing a lackadaisical attitude towards oral care which results in years of neglect. People realize their mistake only after their teeth acquire an ugly yellow color or when painful gums and week teeth take away the joy from eating. The only option left then is to become best buddies with your dentist or so people think! Actually, there is another option which most of us may not be aware of and that is listening to subliminal messages.

What are subliminal messages and how do they work?

Our subconscious is extremely powerful and is believed to influence all our mind and body functions. Subliminal messages work as they are said to have the power to influence and reprogram the subconscious. These messages may be in the form of text, video or audio. The most commonly used instruments for transmitting subliminal messages are audio cds. Soundtracks in these cds come packaged with subliminal messages. They could be embedded in music or could be played in reverse (mixed with music). People who believe in their power claim that listening to subliminal messages repeatedly can influence your subconscious mind in such a way that it:

* Directs your body's natural resources to your teeth and gums, which means that your mind will focus on providing extra blood flow, nutrition and energy to your teeth to naturally improve their condition.
* Makes you more conscious about your teeth i.e. you will no longer be lazy and skip on cleaning your teeth and you will care much more about the condition of your teeth.

Do remember not expect instant results; after listening to a subliminal message you won't wake up with pearly white teeth the very next morning! It will take time, patience, persistence and effort to acquire healthy teeth and gums, subliminal messages will only give your mind and body a push in the right direction.
