Dieting and Diabetes - Many people don't know that being overweight plays a significant role in acquiring diabetes or worsening the condition of diabetes. Most patients with Gestational Diabetes are overweight. Type 2 or Onset Diabetes is also commonly found in people with weight problems. So it is important that you get your weight under control to avoid diabetes or if you already have the illness, lessen its harsh effects. According to studies, 40% with Type 2 Diabetes have high blood pressure which is another sickness that is the effect of people with overly excess weight. In extreme cases, overweight people can have an insulin resistance condition which means the body rejects the insulin that is responsible for transforming glucose and sugar to fuel. If this happens, the body will not be fuelled with enough energy that it needs to function properly.
If you think that you are on your way to being diabetic or if you are already living with such an upsetting condition, then it is about time you take some action to put it under control. The first thing you need to do is lose weight. It is normally never easy but you can think of ways to do it a fun way so it wouldn't be that hard. Be creative. Involve family and friends in your weight loss journey. It is about time you take the drastic steps in improving your health. Make it your inspiration to live longer and extend quality time with your loved ones.
Second, fight a worthy battle. Don't let the disease rule over you. Stand up and take control of your body once again. Lose weight, exercise and follow doctor's orders. Always keep in mind that doctors are professionals and almost 100% of the time, they know what they are doing and they know what is best for you. Don't just sit around and wait for diabetes to take over your life. Gather all your strength and determination and face this battle head on. Third, be active. Exercise often. There are a lot of physical activities you can choose from. Choose what is best for you and what you think you will enjoy. It is important that you have fun doing the exercise because it will help you stay motivated and not lose interest. Last but definitely not the least, watch what you eat. Follow a healthy diet, preferably prescribed by your doctor.
It is time that you stay healthy to subtract numbers from the scale and add years to your life.
