Head Ache During Pregnancy

Headache will commonly occur during the first and the third stage (trimester) of pregnancy but that does not mean that you will be totally free of headache during the second trimester. First and third trimester is the time when you will feel intense headache and the intensity will be very low during the second trimester.

The circulating blood volume increases during the first trimester
and so does the quantity of hormones in pregnant female’s body. This sudden jump in quantities of hormones and blood in her body is the most prominent reason of headache. Stress, changes in vision, or bad posture may also result in headaches and pregnancy might not be the only reason. Some other reasons which might cause headaches are:

• Lack of water in pregnant female’s body or dehydration to be specific.
• Stressed brain many times becomes the reason behind headaches.
• Fallen sugar level in blood might also become the reason behind headaches during pregnancy.
• If you used to have coffee daily and recently you gave up coffee then too you might suffer from intense headaches.
• Proper sleep is necessary during pregnancy and if you don’t sleep properly then there are huge chances that you will suffer from severe headaches.

Females suffering from migraine might be excited to know that they will suffer from less migraine attacks during pregnancy periods but in some rare cases the migraine headaches increases during the pregnancy period. It is very important that you be in touch with your doctor so that you easily receive proper care and headaches do not pop up again and again.

During third trimester you will suffer from headaches due to tension of your baby. It is seen that as the delivery dates close in females start worrying about their baby and this too leads to sever headaches. High blood pressure during pregnancy is known as preeclampsia and this might also be one of the reasons of headaches during the third trimester.

Here we will list a couple of methods which one should follow so as to avoid headaches during pregnancy although the best method to fight with pregnancy headaches is to ignore them. If you think that headache isn’t their then we assure you that you will never feel it. Be happy and don’t take tension and you will be perfectly all right.

• Pregnant females must take good amount of rest during pregnancy period and this will help them to be free from headaches.
• Exercising regularly will keep your body healthy and hence no headaches. Remember that too much exercise isn’t good for your health so you please be within your limits.
• Your posture (during the third trimester) matters a lot and proper posture means least headache during pregnancy.
• Nutritious diet during pregnancy provides the body with the necessary vitamins and minerals and hence the body is under less strain. Least strain means less pressure during pregnancy period.
Talk to your doctor whenever you feel like headache is taking toll on you else both you and your child might be at risk if intensity of headaches increases.
